Outstanding 2014 Year 12 results!
Ranked as the seventh top performing public school in Western Australia based on median Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), Lesmurdie Senior High School’s Class of 2014 performed exceptionally well in the 2014 ATAR examinations. The school’s median ATAR was 80.95, better than the overall state median of 79.00 and significantly up from 75.60 in 2013.
20% of Lesmurdie ATAR students were placed in the top ten percent of students and more than half ranked in the top 20 percent.
100% attainment of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) meaning that all Year 12 students graduated and a ranking of 22nd in the top 50 schools for Vocational Education and Training (VET) highlights Lesmurdie Senior High School’s continuing commitment to provide and support opportunities to both ATAR and VET students.
Principal John Stone offered praise for all 2014 Year 12 students, commenting that this group of students not only took their studies seriously, but also were a fine group of caring and focussed young people. He also was quick to congratulate the efforts and dedication of all staff members who had invested in these students over their time at Lesmurdie. Significant changes to instructional design, the use of relevant ICT and improved course counselling had all contributed to these improved results.
“Our focus at Lesmurdie Senior High School is to ensure that as many doors as possible are open for our graduating students,” Mr Stone said. Whether it be our students receiving their first preferences for university, or successfully gaining TAFE placements or entering the workforce, we pride ourselves that the education and grounding these students have experienced at our school will definitely stand them in good stead for future aspirations and career pathways.”
