ANZAC COMMEMORATION

May 26th, 2014

 

A moving bagpipe solo by Mr Ron Thom and an Acknowledgement of Country by Year 10 student Angus Bennett began the magnificent ANZAC commemoration as staff and students were joined by the Hon John Day (MLA), Mr Wayne Loughrey (Senior Vice President of Kalamunda RSL) and representatives from our Board and Parent group.

Once again the Lesmurdie Senior High School Concert Band, conducted by Mr Peter Hind, performed a number of pieces including accompanying Rebecca Rowland as she sang the National Anthem. Retired Lesmurdie Senior High School teacher Dennis Wills gave a beautiful rendition of ‘My Country’ accompanied by Ashleigh Ezard and James Marelich.

 Thank you to all the staff and students who assisted with the organisation and running of the assembly.
