Exploring Post School Options

Workplace Learning provides our students the opportunity to try out a variety of careers as they gain employability skills, on the job training and work ethic. Every Tuesday some of our Senior School Engagement Program Year 10 students attend Hillside Agriculture Farm in Martin. Students do general maintenance, look after livestock and crops and learn a little about caring for the environment as they work towards a Certificate I in Agrifoods.
Jo Mavilia, a Year 12 Workplace Learning student in the Four day Vocational Educational and Training has completed a Hairdressing Cert II and is now enrolled in Makeup Services Cert II whilst on a school based traineeship work placement at Eclectic Styles. She is definitely on the right pathway, coming 3rd in the Open Fantasy Colour at the State Hairdressing Competition run by WA International Hairstyling Society. Jo competed against apprentices and senior hairdressers in the competition.
Our students would not have these opportunities without our workplace providers who so generously offer placements to our students.
